Wardrobe & outfit app

Overview

This is a wardrobe and outfit app for iOS and Android. The product belongs to Rulead, and I work on it as a mobile engineer at Tersane Dijital. It has only just started, so this page is about the idea and the groundwork, not about a finished app.

The goal is to answer one everyday question: what should I wear today? You photograph your clothes once, the app keeps them as a wardrobe, and then it puts outfits together for you.

What it will do

These are the planned features. None of them are in a public release yet.

• Add clothes with the camera: Photograph a piece, or pick one from the gallery, and the app cuts it out as a clean card, even when you are wearing it in the photo.
• A wardrobe that searches: Each piece is tagged with things like its type and colour, so the wardrobe is easy to browse and search.
• Outfits: Combine pieces into outfits on a simple layout.
• Suggestions for today: Outfit ideas for the day, taking the weather into account, with a short reason for each one.
• Account and plans: Your wardrobe is tied to your account, with a free tier and a subscription.

What exists so far

• Product spec: The scope, the screens and the main decisions are written down.
• Research on cutting clothes out of photos: I tested ways to separate a garment from a photo, including worn clothes and photos with several pieces, and chose the approach for the first version.

The app itself is under active development, and the working title may change before release.
