Overview

Engelsiz Rota ("barrier-free route") is a small mobile app for finding accessible places in Bursa. It was made for Rommer International, a hospital client of Tersane Dijital. I built the mobile app as an engineer at Tersane Dijital.

The idea is simple: before you go somewhere, you should know whether you can actually get in. Each place shows what it offers, such as a ramp, an elevator or an accessible restroom, and when that information was last checked.

The app is in testing and has not been released to the public stores yet.

What the app does

  • Map and nearby places: A map of places across Bursa. With your location turned on, the nearest places come first.
  • Search and filters: Look a place up by name, or narrow the map to one category.
  • Accessibility details: For each place, a feature is marked as present, absent or not yet verified, so a missing answer is never mistaken for a yes.
  • Offline map: Download the map in advance and it still works where there is no connection.
  • Saved places: A personal list that stays on your phone.
  • Suggest a place: Send in a place that is missing, with a photo and its location on the map.
  • Tips: A short set of practical notes for getting around.
  • Made to be accessible: Light, dark and high-contrast looks, adjustable text size, reduced motion, and screen reader support.
  • Six languages: Turkish, English, Russian, Arabic, Albanian and Bulgarian.

What I built

I built the whole mobile app: the map, the lists and filters, the offline map, the place pages, the suggestion form and the settings. Because the app is about accessibility, I treated contrast, text size and screen reader use as requirements from the first screen, not as extras.
